Mirco Grant Recipients Announced
MRC has awarded over $121,000 in micro grants for equipment or infrastructure to 15 mattress collection facilities in both rural and urban areas across the state of California. The facilities will implement 2019 projects intended to improve program cost, efficiencies and the recyclability of discarded mattresses. Collectively the projects are expected to yield more than 12,000 mattresses per year that would otherwise be sent to landfill.
MRC may launch a second micro grant cycle late 2019. Interested entities should contact Abbie Beane at abeane@mattressrecyclingcouncil.org.

The information gathered will be delivered to MRC and the individual recyclers to increase diversion of box spring wood from landfills. The project will run through June 2019.
